Der Kunstsammler / The Art Collector

The Art Collector
The art dealer Ambroise Vollard guaranteed Paul Gauguin (as he was late in life) a patronage of 2400 francs per year and in addition the art dealer Vollard wanted to assume the costs for the material. He was also ready to pay for each picture of 200 francs and for each drawing of 30 francs extra. Paul Gauguin died on South Sea Island Tahiti and couldn't to see his success. A young gallery owner called Pedro Mañach gave Pablo Picasso at that time the chance. Around the 20th centuries, Pablo Picasso received monthly 150 francs for some of his pictures. Then the art dealer Paul Rosenberg to give his attention on Pablo Picasso. Pablo Picasso painted by the way a cubistically portrait of Ambroise Vollard. One day on a flea market, Pablo Picasso offered for its part the attention on Henri Julien Félix Rousseau. Recently is lots of written over the art collectors. These reports awake the appearance of the Dow Jones Index. Recently was in the news to read about an art collector that is a alleged exception. Just because Jürgen Hall bought at auction for tens of millions Francis Bacon, Gerhard Richter or August Macke and thereafter at a museum gives away or as a loan to make available, is he certain as an art collector not an exception. The art collector Jürgen Hall comes from an entrepreneurial family, which became as tobacco products distributor well-to-do. Pablo Picasso said once "With a miserable nest in the south, with a packet tobacco or with an old chair, one create the pictures.". Truly! Our father, Vincent van Gogh, couldn't to see and happy to go on working. It's more meaningful instead to expend of tens of millions than a alleged 'exception collector', to invest with tens of millions wise into the art. Picasso expressed once in an interview this sentence "It gives milelong pictures in the manner of yada-yada-yada, but a young man who paints in its own manner, finds one rarely.". Jürgen Hall is one, the, to swim with the tide. After the last news of the art world, some art galleries remove from Cologne. They say, the younger generation of the collector families shows the interest in the collecting no longer. To provide a basis the Kewenig Gallery. The Gallery will be at home from April 2013 only in Berlin. Also the theory,  repordetly, no longer in the art represented and the curators as well as exhibition organizers to use just at a long time deceased philosophers. Strange. Certainly the theory in the art exists further. The art galleries, art collectors and patrons of the arts only more exactly would have to look and would have to inquire also at once outside of the scenes. Exactly, as long as an artist did not reach the safe port, will the most art collectors itself to rove around on the scene. The collecting is a benefit and somehow also an exploit. Who has a good nose and the courage, discovers the artist, who the create a sensation in the art story. First, the purchase price is discussible, secondly, the art collector gets considerable advantages. The safe port always to occupy the followers and therefore remains only the possibility in the rock reef. There are the art collectors rarely strayed.

Der Kunsthandel / The Art Trade

Also sprich Menschen und menschliche Leidenschaften.

The Art Trade
Why many galleries to pride oneself that they are successful, thus them merely commercial art represent. Economic decision is not by a long shot a success. The prosperity is only economical. Roman Norbert Ketterer (1911-2002) or Ernst Beyeler (1921-2010) one can designate as a successful art collector and gallery owner. If however gallery owners, like for example gallery owner W. Grusdat, to pride oneself, that they are successful, one doesn't have to marvel. Pop Art is established a long time. Even also Martin Naville is enthused of the Pop Art. Why the masses romanticism likewise the upper class the classic art pampered needs no comment. For the majority of the people, the aesthetic enjoyment is an mindset. It may not differ substantially of the daily life. That is why the object, with which the masses busies itself in the art and the aiming point of their attention as well as the mental powers, is the same like otherwise in life. Therefore i.e. people and human passions. The autodidacts, who create the new direction and art, have the masses against itself and will have it always against itself. It is people strange and it becomes as hostile of the system designated. It is not understood of the dense majority. On the other hand the few to recognize themself and one another in the monotonous gray of the many, and, them all have as the few it difficult and will have it always difficult, to be acknowledged. At the autodidacts, one first must trust. This character requires enormous giftedness, and, this giftedness to possess only few entirely. The works of Malevich, Rousseau, Gauguin or van Gogh were not the system and also not the masses. Theirs work was pure sociology. These artists have to project the society and awaked in the masses the feeling of disgust, pain even embarrassment. To the present exists for so-called autodidacts no agency. Neither a gallery, a foundation or very promising scholarship systems. On the other hand exist for graduate of arts school or academy some offers and funds. An autodidact is a suppressed of the Ancien Régime. The signors of the Ancien Régime feel like an sorehead as soon as an autodidact establishes new direction and view. An autodidact of that as an artist recognizes itself, has the courage and volition the sorrow to bear (like in the picture of Paul Gauguin "Self portrait with yellow Christ"). At the vernissage in the gallery Terminus of the gallery owner Wilhelm Grusdat, they say in an interview, had been present 400 guests. Nominally Vincent van Gogh in his full life only a single picture sold for 400 FF (French Francs). A such thing is now the irony of the history or the irony of the fate?

Der Kram / The Stuff

The stuff
There are again and again new money, which with the globalization or otherwise to have arrived to the prosperity. Usually they acquire a land and to let to build a mansion. Why however then with the furnishing a flop becomes. Nowadays one can watch on TV about this beautiful people and it notices to one that they to acquire artless pieces. Actually it is kitsch and has with the art anything none to do. How harm. They have sufficient money, in order to many good artists also many autodidacts to help more well-known to become, instead of in kitsch and stuff to invest. Which proves clearly that the money doesn't make still from a somebody a art connoisseur.

Selbstverständlichkeit / Matter of course

Matter of course

We had to learn unfortunately how a namedless and lonely dog had to die in the cruelest manner. That for that responsible artist is called Guillermo Vargas. For its art action in a gallery in Nicaragua, he let agonizingly to starve the unprotected and defenseless animal. The art very often is abused, so often like all on the earth. At the same time the art should be yet away wise and should act not brutally opposite other creatures. Mr. Vargas is for me an abominable person. He never can be one of us! He never can be an occupation colleague of me. The wonderful companion of the person, i.e. this dog never would have been allowed to end so. Above all in the hands of an adult person, that themselves gladly would like to term a artist. How would damage! I personally like no zoos. I like no nature historic museums and also no museums for cultures. They everyone are misleading and also false in our system. It is terrible and cruelly to hunt wild animals and after that to exhibit. At the same time we should have learned already from our mistakes. No! -, unfortunately did nothing change. Even the original peoples was placed in Europe publicly to the exhibition. At the same time the intellectuals in Europe boast gladly as civilized themselves persons. It is decorated, is glossed over and hidden what holds the thing. One has would have the animals in the science for years maintained no intellect. How can a living thing have no intelligence? Such a rubbish! Today are examined always a few more species on its intelligence. The modern person could learn actually much of original peoples. Because they have many knowledge what the human as a human designated. Peter Friedel's stuffed giraffe "The Zoo Story, 2007" is a work, that at the humans the objection to evoke should. This work shows like absurd it was and is, to lock in a free living animal. This work produces a commiseration and also a humiliation in mind of the spectator with respect to this animal and causes a new way of thinking over our civilization. The sculpture of Berlinde de Bruyckeres "Speechless Grey Horse, 2004" is also very interesting and wonderful. This work of art produces a curiosity and a marveling in mind of the spectator. This work evokes simultaneously the characteristics of the person. The life-size and oversized works of polyester and wood by Katharina Fritsch are very impressive and gigantic. Their installation "Rat King, 1993" with 16 powerful plastic rats typifies disgust, stench, dirt, and all threats of the city jungle. For these works, these artists threatened or killed not a single living thing. Day after day we hear or read over the succession of global warming and the negative consequences of our civilization. Nevertheless we make to undertake the effort consistently somewhat against it. The time to rush off. It is searched and investigated what holds the thing. Even one tries to ouwit the death. We everyone should live yet like a person and not like a machine. Ever more artificial the life, all the more difficult the survival becomes. That applies to the person, for the animals, for the plants, for the insects and naturally for our only world. The art busies itself since short over these subjects. The artists from Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe or America them everyone try to escape the change and to try to convince with their works mankind, the politicians, the scientists, the entrepreneurs of the industry. Recently such artists to increase more and more and to call attention of poverty, poverty, inequality, environmental pollution, wasting, consumer society, social problems, sociological problems and so further. Many of this artist are not state received. There are autodidacts. However their topics and works are not largely noted, because the arts schools and the state at these ideas on time to control and nationally received artists the precedence into the public guarantees. So the autodidacts is excluded and also quietly placed. This bearing of the system cannot help us because the critical, independent and seminal artists are introduced first many of many years later gently into the society of the system, where it is already a long time too late actually for that.
